Getting Transcripts from Mumbai University (MU) for WES ECA

Praful (name changed) did a 3-year bachelor's degree. His 1st & 2nd-year mark sheets were issued by his college (an autonomous college affiliated to Mumbai Univ.) and his 3rd-year mark sheet was issued by the Mumbai Univ. He wanted an ECA from WES and below are the steps that he followed to get a successful evaluation done.

NOTE 1: Students may follow these steps even for a 3-year, 4-year, or 5-year, or n-year degree, where the college issued some mark sheets and the university issued the rest. If ALL your mark sheets are issued by Mumbai Univ. then you can skip step 1.

STEP 1: Praful applied for 2 sets of transcripts from his autonomous college in Mumbai (you may apply for 1 or more sets). The college issued the transcript in a sealed, stamped, and signed envelope and handed over these envelopes to Praful.

The college transcript included marks for all 3 years of his bachelor's degree (that included marks from the 3rd year mark sheet that was issued by Mumbai Univ. as he was still studying with the same college all throughout his bachelor's degree).

Please call your college to find out what is the procedure to get the transcripts from the college. Keep following up with them whenever possible. This is the only step that takes time. In Praful's case due to lock down and the covid situation, it took him about 3 months to receive the transcripts from his college.

NOTE 2: If the college insists on submitting a WES academic records request form, then you would need to have a WES reference number beforehand. Praful's college did NOT request the WES academic records request form so he did not create the WES account at this stage.

STEP 2: After Praful acquired all the required documents in hand, he created a WES account at this stage to get the WES reference number which would be necessary for MU to send transcripts to WES.

Since COVID, Mumbai Univ. has started an online transcript procedure. Please visit Mumbai eTranscript online. Praful created an online account at the MU eTranscript website and completed his new account registration.

STEP 3: Praful then scanned his ORIGINAL mark sheets and degree certificate and uploaded these as per the instructions reflected in his Mumbai eTranscript account. (Jump to Step 5 if all your mark sheets are issued by MU.)

STEP 4: Praful then opened the sealed transcript that he acquired from his college according to STEP 1. He scanned his transcript (which had 3 pages) and uploaded the transcript scans online.

STEP 5: Praful paid the required fees to MU from his MU eTranscript account for sending his transcripts to WES.

STEP 6:After uploading all documents & paying the fees, Praful kept on tracking the MU process from his MU eTranscript account dashboard. MU took 15 days to process and send the transcripts to WES.

GOOD NEWS: MU sent transcripts electronically to WES, thereby avoiding postal mail delays.
